What a week!
We had both Brownies and Juniors, a fieldtrip and then a weekend of rehearsals and performances and I'm pooped! So are the girls and Ed....and....we still have almost almost two weeks to Christmas still!
Now, don't get me wrong, Girl Scouts this week was awesome! The Brownies had a party and the Juniors each got to make their own gingerbread houses!!!!(all 25 of them no less!!!!!!!!!) The fieldtrip was a blast at the Magic House and this weekend was a complete success, but man it was tiring.
However, both girls had a great time with everything and they did wonderful in the show. They actually picked up a few lines for the performance Sat. night and it still went well! Not to mention that I was able to get the scenery done and up with the help of a wonderful friend(thanks Beth) and then surprise the kiddos with it and that was worth it all.
Anyway....another crazy week ahead and now we have several storms which are supposed to blow through too.....hmmm, anyone wonder if the moon being in its closest orbit since 1993 is having a bigger effect on the weather than just tides?
Stay warm and safe this week-

Fourth Grade
Fourth grade is different than any other grade in the whole school. Everything is to easy and we have to wait longer for lunch. Everyone takes everyone so seriously. One little slipup and you could be friendless. I can't wait for fifth grade, it will probably be much better.

Lights
We have lived in this blue-White house for just over 9 years now and I have decorated it pretty much the same on the outside at Christmas for all that time. I will add something every few years but the basic theme/concept remains the same-classic white lights with greens and burgundy ribbons. We have a ranch with four pillars along the front so it lends itself nicely to these decorations, especially if it snows!
Anyway, yesterday Lexi helped me put up part of the decorations, the ribbons and lights on the pillars and along the front scallops between the pillars and the we stopped because it was dark and cold! I was planning on doing the greens along the gutters today but it was too cold so that will have to wait until tomorrow when hopefully it will be into the upper 30s...a warm front ya know! Then I will take a full shot of it at night and post it for you all. I can't wait for snow though because then it looks pretty in the day too!
I love the lights on houses and personally I would leave them up through Feb. and all the snows. Of course others would balk.....but I think it would be pretty..not the whole thing, just the pillars, but oh well....maybe one year just for kicks..we'll see:)
Have a great weekend-

Let the crazies begin...
Well..it already did. Last week was Thanksgiving, which was lovely, but also the kickoff to the month of holiday crazy you know:)
It actually started for us on the 21st with the Girl Scout sleepover at school which involved the three White girls, dad got to stay home..alone..woohoo! Lexi was the only one who got to sleepover as K-2 only stay until 10 pm(which is...I mean was-gulp-heavenly). But that meant that neither White girl under 10 got a good night's sleep and were cranky all weekend. Then we had short two days of school.
Wed. we went with Papa and bought a tree to take up to the cabin for Christmas. The girls also picked out a spot for the tree house Papa wants to build and then we played Monopoly, ate dinner, played more and went to bed.
We got up early Thur. and drove home and showered up and then went to Nana and Papa's for dinner. Uncle Hung and Auntie Van were there and a wonderful meal(thanks mom) and good time was had by all. Then over to Hooks for pie and cards! An annual tradition that this year included the girls!!!!! They played cards and did quite well for their first games of Nertz ever!
The girls got to spend the night at N&P's so we could get up early and rearrange the house! Which we did!!!!!! We moved the girls back into their own rooms and us back into ours. And rearranged the living room for the tree and decorations to boot! It has worked out well...the girls are still deciding where to put everything and we are still going through the mountain of laundry but that is about it. They spent the night again so the dust could settle and we could do the finishing touches and tackle the mountain and that was nice.
We finally picked up the girls after dinner on Sat and then they came home and decorated the tree and living room. They did a phenomenal job:) Just shows how fast they are growing up....too fast for me some days!
And now we are into December.......
The girls have rehearsal tonight for the Christmas program at Church which is in two weeks. This weekend is the holiday party for Brownies. We have regular meetings for GS for both girls too. Plus the holiday concerts and parties at school, Santa Lucia, and final projects at CCL...and I am sure some things I am missing too.
Anyway-hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

A silly day
Today I shot a Nerd out of the hole where one of my front teeth is still coming in while I sneezed! I am making my first blog entry.(blog entry?) My best friend is grounded, wah. I hated school today, I had no homework! I just love homework. But I'm still sad because I just remembered that my cat, Gizmo, is dead. But I still have Sasha. Mommy had breast cancer.

November
It is a month that seems to fly by.
So far we've had 1 day off school, 1 sick day per kid, 1 early release day, 1Brownie meeting, 1 Junior meeting, 2 piano lessons, 2 doctor appts., 3 eye doctor appts. and its not even halfway through the month!
But that's ok since it just is a prelude to the zaniness of December anyway!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend...we will be rearranging furniture!
